SCHS Pigskin Update

My alma mater SCHS Indians opened their region schedule with a 61-20 pounding of the Walnut Grove Warriors last Friday evening.  This week, the Indians continue Region 8AAAA play by hosting Chestatee, a team making the trip to The Reservation from Gainesville.

The War Eagles (2-1, 1-0), who have posted some impressive point totals, are coming off of a 57-56 home shootout win over the Eastside Eagles.

Thus far, though, the Indians (4-0, 1-0) are posting some impressive point totals of their own; SCHS has outscored its opposition by the margin of 182 to 74; that means that the team’s margin of victory has averaged 27 points through four games.

Reflecting that dominance, the Indians climbed from sixth to fifth in the current AJC Prep Zone football poll and remained at number five in that of the Associated Press (and no, I don’t know why it would show up on an Ohio newspaper web site, much less doing so sooner than those of Georgia).
