My alma mater
Indians opened the season with a convincing 28-7 road win over long-time rival
Franklin County. Up next, the Indians
(1-0, 0-0) continue non-conference play by hosting the Habersham Central
Raiders (0-1, 0-0), who will make the trip down from Mt. Airy to The Reservation for the annual "Battle of Currahee Mountain." The Raiders are coming off of a 0-31 drubbing
at the hands of White County.

Addendum - Not
that they mean much, but poll rankings can be fun to talk about. Insofar
as the Associated Press is concerned, my Indians started the 2012
season as the tenth-ranked team in classification AAAA. After the 28-7 victory over Franklin County,
the Indians moved up to eighth place in the AP’s current poll. The
AJC’s Prep Zone has the Indians ranked at number seven in its poll.
