SCHS Indians made the trek to Carrollton last Friday evening for the first
round of the state AAAA playoffs.
Unfortunately, the Trojans emerged victorious by turning the visitors
away by the score of 40-7. Carrollton
(8-3) jumped out to an early lead and steadily pulled away from the Indians
(8-3), scoring 14 points in the initial quarter, 10 in the second, 9 in the
third, and 7 in the fourth. SCHS scored
its 7 points in the second quarter.
Thus ends a fine season for the Indians. The two teams to which SCHS lost during the
regular season, each by a scant 4 points, both made the state playoffs: Monroe
Area bested Shaw 21-14 and Chestatee lost to Lagrange 59-46. Monroe Area next faces Grady, a 27-17 winner
over River ridge, and Carrollton next faces Marist, a 56-0 victor over Gilmer.
